Just Venting

Stuff that gets on my very last nerves! Some are minimal but I just can't stand them! LOL!! They are in no particular order.


1. People (mainly professionals) that say PACIFIC instead of SPECIFIC.

2. When someone sneezes and I say "BLESS YOU" and they do NOT say "Thank You".

3. Volunteering a lie. WHY!?!?!?!? It's not necessary to lie, and especially when I didn't ask you about it!!

4. Western Union. This is so stupid! Who doesn't have a checking account?? I'm not PAYING to spend money.

5. This one will be hard to explain. When people try to clear their sinus cavity. I guess that's what they are doing. But they make this horribly disgusting sound of sniffing up snot! (sigh) LAWD!!!!!!!! I can't stand that! I hope y'all get what I'm saying! LOL!!!!!!!!

6. Oh but what about when people scratch their throat with their tongue. Can SOMEONE feel me on that!?!?!? OOH!

7. Not apologizing or admitting you are wrong. Someone gets an attitude with you because they THINK they are right about something! Then they find out they are wrong and they want to just say WHATEVER!

8. When people butt into a conversation and have NO IDEA what they are talking about.

9. Men having fifty-leven (YES I said it) kids and just as many baby mammas! And Vice versa!

10. People that are ALWAYS claiming broke!

This is an old post that I did in 2006! HA!! But trust that it still applies! *wink*

Grace Octavia brings Tasha, Troy, and Tamia back in PLAYING HARD TO GET. These best friends have been through it all...together. Now in the sequel to TAKE HER MAN, they move on to another journey in their lives. Troy is now a First Lady. Her marriage to Kyle is anything but picture perfect. She allows some of the nosey mothers of the church to wedge their way into her relationship. Tasha is married to her NBA baller, Lionel. They have moved out of the city into the suburbs with their two daughters and Tasha feels like she is drowning. She takes a big leap to get back on the scene that could cost Tasha her family. Tamia is on the fast track to making partner in her firm. She is dating high-powered attorney, Charleston, with lots of perks. When she is given a case that she thinks is a sure loser, Tamia never expects to meet Malik and to actually be able to learn something from him that could possibly change the rest of her life. Their lives are turned upside down and the challenges bring the 3Ts closer together.

 Octavia's writing style is in a category all of its own. She tells the story in a "sistergirl" fashion. She gives footnotes to help you understand the BAP (Black American Princess) and her personalized lingo. Octavia also inserts hilarious guides after a few chapters such as "Top Ten Reasons Men Lie in Love," "The BAP Declaration of Independence," "25 Classy-Girl Rules of Class Action" and "Six Male Conversations to Avoid." I am not sure that I totally get the title, but I thoroughly loved the book. This book stands alone. You do not have to read TAKE HER MAN but I suggest you do. It was great as well.

Inception...Go See It!!!

Have you seen the movie Inception? If you haven't...then you need to go see it! As I talked about it with other people, it is starting to give me the LOST vibe. LOVE IT! :o) I am still trying to understand all of what actually happened. LOL It is so intriguing to think about the subconscious mind. We enter into the character's dreams and then into the deepest parts of their minds. PUT YOUR BRAINS TO WORK. You can't miss a beat and you have to be open to explore!

I won't give away anything about the movie. Just give you a synopsis and then let YOU decide! HA!

E-Readers. Would you get one?

E-readers! Do you have one? Would you purchase one?

You can download your books right onto the device and read from there. You can even download magazine subscriptions. I like the idea of having all your book stored in one place. Not have stacks of books around the house (oh so I'm the only one??). And taking this on vacation and not having to lug three and four books around.

There are just so many out there to choose from. Amazon.com has the Kindle. Barnes & Nobles has the Nook. Sony has the Sony reader. The iPad has the reader on it. And you can even use your smartphone (iPhone, Blackberry, etc) to download an application for a reader. SOOOO many options!

Call me old school, but I really love the feel of a BOOK. I know so many people are getting these e-readers and they are LIGHTWEIGHT convincing me that I should to. But I love the idea of being curled up on the couch or in bed with a good book. Flipping pages...not looking at a screen.

Where are we headed next?

Summer Summer Summer TIME!!!!!!!!!

*singing* Summer Summer Summer TIME!!!!!!!!!

You know it's summer when you hear Will Smith's "Summertime" on the radio. But you REALLY know it's summer when you wake up and it's already 78 degrees outside!!! This has been one of the hottest summer's in GA and we are JUST a month in!!

We have had tons of AIR CONDITIONING THEFTS??? YES!! People are going around stealing other people's AC Units. Someone tried to steal an AC unit from a church. A CHURCH y'all?? You know this heat got folks doing some crazy stuff.

So stay cool out there. Here are some ways to stay cool this summer...

1. Drink plenty of water!
2. Dress appropriately.
3. Stay INDOORS. Find some indoor activities to partake in. Maybe the movies, the mall, whatever you do...don't go to the park. :)
4. Think COOL thoughts! Pretend you are in the Arctic. SOMETHING! lol

There are also ways to cool down your house without air conditioning. Just in case someone steals your AC.

Women Own More Jeans Than They Wear

Well DUHHHHHHHHHHHHH! LOL!!!

According a survey done on Consumer Reports/ShopSmart , the average woman owns seven pairs of jeans but only wears FOUR. Only one in four women own more than ten pair of jeans.

ShopSmart's survey also gathered that the average price a woman is willing to pay for her jeans is $34. Only one in 10 women are willing to spend more than $100 on a pair of jeans.

Women between the age of 18-34 are willing to spend a little more, with their average being $60 a pair. They also own more jeans, with 99% owning more than 10 pair.

Yeah that would be ME!!! I own about 17 or 18 pair and really I think I wear a solid 6 or 7 pair! :) That's because those are the ones I can FIT! LOL!!! And I wouldn't spend more than about $45 on a pair of jeans. Really less than that! HA!!

Lebron James’s $50 Million Mansion

GET YO HANDS OUT MY POCKET!!!!!!!!!

That’s what Lebron should be saying right now!!

According to Life & Style Magazine, Lebron James is reportedly purchasing a $50 million dollar mansion in the Coral Gables section of Miami. This is the Heat coach, Pat Riley, former abode. It has been on the market for a while and was taken off of the market shortly after Lebron’s DECISION was made to head to Miami to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat.

It’s an 20,862 square feet, 8 bedroom/11 bathroom mansion home.

People are up in arms about it too. Like I said before…GET YO HANDS OUT HIS POCKETS!!!! The man just signed a contract for $110 MILLION. Did we forget???

Teen Maternity Line?

First let me say that I love Forever 21!

Forever 21 has launched a maternity line, Love 21, in five states: Arizona, Alaska, California, Utah, and Texas. Bloggers from the site The Glass are pointing out three of those five (Arizona, California, and Texas) are are among the top 15 states with the highest teen pregnancy rates.
Executive vice president, Larry Meyer, states
"Forever 21 did not create, design or distribute Love 21 Maternity to target, or appeal specifically to pregnant teens. Any relationship between teen pregnancy rates and the locations of our stores is unintentional. The line will provide sophisticated, on-trend styles for moms-to-be at affordable prices, continuing Forever 21's commitment to value, trend and freshness."

I don't see ANYTHING wrong with this. I mean I know plenty of people that shop there. I know that it may be geared towards teenagers. But I believe the maternity line is geared towards young adults. The girls on the website modeling the clothing aren't teenagers.

Honestly when I first saw it I was thinking OOOH this will be so cute for me when I get pregnant. :) My thoughts were NOT on teen pregnancies.

Christina Milian and The Dream Separated

While The Dream spent the better part of this year DENYING that there were any problems with his marraige to Christina Milian, it is now revealed that they have been having problems since 2009.

In a statement released to US Weekly, The Dream's rep said:

Terius 'The-Dream' Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina
Milian was unsuccessful. The couple reached this decision in late 2009, but
decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter
Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family moving
forward.

Could it be because of his personal assistant, Melissa?? They were all hugged up in the Carribbean this past weekend. *side eye*

I'm just saying...I bet Christina wishes she had stayed with Nick Cannon. HMMPH!!! Who's buying The Dream's next album?? LOL!!

Fonzworth Bentley ENGAGED

Fonzworth Bentley and his long time girlfriend, Fuane Chambers, have been engaged since December 2009. Ummm yeah...you heard right! I mean I know they have been dating for awhile, but I was waiting for the announcement. Well...another kind of announcement!

Bentley spoke with US Weekly.

"We are so excited!" Bentley -- who first rose to fame when he was
photographed holding Diddy's umbrella -- told Us Wednesday.

The singer, author and reality star (From G's to Gents) proposed to
actress Faune Chambers (who co-starred with Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of
Benjamin Button) on December 2009 near their Atlanta hometown.

He got down on one knee with a 3-carat asscher-cut diamond from
NYC's Ozuro Fine Jewelry.

"I tricked her! She thought it would happen on Christmas but I did
it right before New Year's," Bentley tells Us. "She said yes and I was so
excited. Afterward, she kept wanting to call and tell her mother and I told her
not to - because then we walked into a restaurant where my parents and her
parents were waiting. We all had lunch and then I walked them all back to show
them where I proposed."

"The wedding is pretty soon!" adds Bentley, 36.

Chambers, 33, also plays the lead in the music video for new single
"Greener," off his EP Cool Outrageous Fingerprint (out this summer).

"It's really special to say my fiancee is in the video. I love
using that word. You don't get to do it too long, so it's really special!"
gushes Bentley.
